The Complete Ghost Stories
by M. R. James
Summary: A collection of short stories focused on ghosts and other terrors.
My thoughts: I am two stories in and really enjoying this one! It’ll be perfect in-between reading for my book club.
Read: Macmillan Publishers
Love in Color
Mythical Tales from Around the World, Retold
by Bolu Babalola
Summary: Famous love stories from around the world are retold within a modern frame.
My thoughts: Three stories in, and I definitely recommend this collection. It’s a perfect light read if you’re looking for some non-explicit romance or something you can put down and come back to several times.
Read: HarperCollins Publishers
The Spiral of Tokenism: Part 1
Hold That Thought by Sarah Haider
by Sarah Haider
Summary: Haider works through the complicated history and implications of DEI, which has been in the public eye more and more recently.
My thoughts: This piece has so many good lines I had trouble picking just one to restack. Whether you agree with Haider or not, this is an insightful and engaging read.

Watch
Super Bowl LVIII
Summary: Two teams faced off in the biggest game of the American sporting year. One of them won and the other did not. There was laughter, there were tears, it was better than Cats.
My thoughts: No, the Super Bowl is not better than Cats, but I did have a good time hanging out with friends and watching Usher put people half his age to shame. We also watched the Nickelodeon broadcast, and it would have been pretty cute if I could hear anything they were saying!
Watch: Haha you missed it, you can search for the highlights yourself. I wouldn’t even know what to link here.
…do you think I’m going to get in trouble for not referring to it as the big game? I’ll keep you posted.

Texting Tutor Update: Will Her Boyfriend be Willing to Take Her Daughter to a School Dance?
The Bert Show
Summary: A radio show follows up with their guest who needed help asking her new boyfriend to take her daughter to a dance she’s never been able to attend.
My thoughts: This is just a super sweet episode. If you need a little faith in humanity, give this one a listen!
Listen: The Bert Show
