⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Here’s Why Everyone Should Have a Work Shutdown Ritual | Becky Kane | Todoist
I thought I was good a separating myself from work at the end of the day, but this article really changed my point of view about the whole process. It’s really valuable to consciously save your work, close windows, and prepare for the next day. With this process (or something like it) you’re less likely to carry work with you after you log off.
Watch
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Fingersmith | BBC
When I read this mini-series’ brief description, I thought I knew what to expect, and I was totally wrong. I expected a ham-fisted “lesbians existed in Dickensian times, see??” But in reality, this show is subtle, moving, exciting, and surprising. I’d challenge anyone to try and predict its twists and turns.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Ghost Story for Christmas | BBC
This is a series of short ghost story adaptations, filmed in the 70’s. Most of the episodes are short, cheap, creepy, and have nothing to do with Christmas 🤷♀️
⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Ash Tree
A nephew inherits his uncle’s massive estate, after he and his uncle before him both failed to have children. Over several nights in the house, the new owner finds himself reliving his great-uncle’s part in a Puritan witch trial.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Lost Hearts
An orphaned boy arrives at his uncle’s distant country home, where he is haunted by two strange children with weird long fingernails and thick blue “oOoOo I’m a ghOoOst” face paint.
⭐️⭐️ Number 13
A scholar arrives in a rural town to study their church’s records. He discovers his next-door neighbor in the hotel is rowdy every night, but when he goes to confront him in the morning, he discovers the neighbor’s room number has changed from 13 to 12.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ Mind Games | Lynda La Plante
An Irish criminal profiler is brought in to assist with a case, which quickly builds into a serial killer pattern. Soon, she finds herself wondering if the criminal could even be one of her fellow detectives. It’s good, not great, but worth a watch if you like serial killer stories.
Play
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Hogwarts Legacy | Warner Bros. Games
It’s amazing how I can play this game over and over again. I just love exploring and trying on new outfits every morning.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance | Warhorse Studios
(I haven’t finished this one, so no rating yet.) A warning for players: I put this game down for two or three weeks, and by the time I got back to it, I couldn’t remember the controls anymore. So, I started over. I really enjoy this game. The acting is good (sometimes great), the story is engaging, and it’s not quite like my usual RPG, but it’s also not super polished, and the controls are not intuitive.
