All the thrills without the commitment
Read
⭐⭐⭐ The Lean Startup | Eric Ries
The Lean Startup is a management method pioneered at IMVU, focusing on experimentation and rapid learning over perfection.
Anyone interested in strategy management or launching a new product, service, corporate process, etc. should read this book. Anyone not interested in business theory can give it a pass.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Dear Queers for Palestine | Joe Nucci, Mental State of the Union
Joe Nucci is a psychotherapist I discovered on Instagram. He often speaks about cultural trends from a psychological point of view, and this is one of his first posts on Substack. Here, he discusses the often confusing overlap between the modern, Western “queer” movement and support for the ultra-conservative Palestinian government.
If you’re interested in this seemingly self-defeating movement or the related campus protests, this piece is worth a read.
Watch
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Grey’s Anatomy | ABC
Meredith Grey has risen from intern to resident, but her life is only getting more confusing.
I’ve made it to season five! I think this is going to be one of my background shows, watched during meals or chores. It’s fun, often silly, but interesting enough for me to stick with it.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ Tour de France: Unchained | Netflix
This documentary series follows the 2023 Tour de France riders, focusing on their personal experiences and their team managers’ points of view.
I never really “got” the TdF until watching this series. Now you can see the exciting highlights and strategy discussions without the hours of watching men pedal their tiny butts off.
⭐⭐⭐ The Secret of Crickley Hall | BBC One
A family leaves their home on the first anniversary of their son’s disappearance, only to discover that the house they’ve rented carries a tragic history of its own.
If you like ghost stories and mysteries, this is a good one! It gets a little hokey at the end but is still worth a watch if you want something spooky.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Acolyte - re:View | Red Letter Media
The boys are back to complain about Star Wars! In a conversation the length of a feature film, Rich and Mike talk about the latest Star Wars show, its inevitable controversy, and why none of it really matters.
I love all things RLM, but I especially love to hear them talk about film theory, writing, and the media nonsense that surrounds popular shows. If you like Star Wars and/or silly media panics, put this on for your commute or chores time.
Play
⭐⭐⭐⭐ RimWorld | Ludeon Studios
In this sci-fi story simulator, you control three survivors of a crash-landing as they try to build a new life on a planet so distant and inconsequential it’s called a “rimworld.” Build the perfect colony or focus on getting them back home, every choice is up to you!
I really like that the developers describe this game as a story generator. I’ve never “completed” a playthrough, although I have ruined several colonies in my time. This game is a great way to relax and pass the time or to put your strategic planning mind to the test.
Thanks for reading and don’t forget to leave a like and a comment. Or send me a note with your thoughts and what you’d recommend next!

If I start Grey’s Anatomy now I’ll have to give my whole life over to the endeavor 😅
